Microsoft have released the Windows Home Server software which is aimed at the home user or enthusiast who is interested in building a home server and network to organise, share and protect data and media files.
Windows Home Server allows a home to connect all its PCs and laptops and provides facilities such as regular backups (automatically), virus protection, simple file recovery, and future scalability for expansion.
This Tutorial explains how to setup a Windows 2003 CD based Server Image
1. Risetup
From the Windows 2003 Server based RIS Server go to the CMD (command) prompt and type Risetup.exe
2. New Image
Select the option to add a new operating system image to your server
3. Locate Source files
When prompted for source files, browse to the location of the Windows Server files
4. Select Folder name
When prompted for a folder name use the default name of WindowsServer2003
5. Complete Risetup
Complete the remaining sections of the Risetup.exe wizard
